Creamy greek yogurt combined with peanut butter and cream cheese makes this healthy fruit dip a perfect appetizer, dessert, or even a stand alone breakfast.

Years ago, my roommate and I used to make a slimmed-down version of this fruit dip any time we had people over. It took five minutes to put together and was always a crowd pleaser. In this recipe, I’ve kept the simplicity of the recipe, but added some additional flavors to really make this fruit dip stand out.

The 5 Ingredients You Need

Yep, there’s only 5 simple ingredients in this fruit dip. And, there’s a pretty good chance most if not all of these ingredients are sitting in your pantry/refrigerator right now.

It’s a great “oh no I forgot I was supposed to bring something to a party” last-minute kind of treat. (Which, honestly, happens to me more than I want to admit.) It’s quick, easy, and delicious. What’s not to love?

P.S. These coconut macaroons are another quick and easy recipe if you’re in a time crunch.

Keys to Success

With an all in one recipe, it’s hard to believe there are some keys to making this dip a success. But even though this is technically an easy fruit dip recipe, here are some things to keep in mind to when making it.

Add the ingredients in order to ensure you get that light fluffy texture. Start with the yogurt, then add the peanut butter. Stir to combine. There will still be streaks of peanut butter for now, but that’s okay.

Soften the cream cheese for 10 seconds in the microwave. This was a game changer. Trust me on this. If you add the cream cheese cold, it won’t nicely combine with the other ingredients and you’ll have cream cheese chunks throughout the dip (giving it a weird texture and look…no thanks).

But, if you add the semi-melted cream cheese you get this lovely light, fluffy texture that you can even see in the pictures. (Look at the second pic below!)

Add the cinnamon to taste. I started with 1/8 of a teaspoon and then sprinkled some on top. If you like cinnamon, feel free to add more. It really adds a good, warm flavor to the dip.

What to serve with fruit dip

Well, the obvious answer is … fruit, but I know buying a lot of different fruit options can be expensive so I’ve got a few recommendations.

Because of the cream cheese in this dip, the flavor isn’t as sweet as traditional fruit dips that use marshmallow fluff or even caramel. (So I guess this is why I can call this a “healthy fruit dip” in comparison to those versions. ;)) If I only used one fruit, I would choose apples. The tartness and crunchy texture of apples are the perfect accompaniment to the creaminess of the dip.

Side note: I’ve eaten a version of this dip for breakfast – greek yogurt, peanut butter, and chopped apples. Seriously, it’s SO good and it’s super filling with all the protein from the yogurt and peanut butter. Win-win.

As you can see from the photos, I don’t only use fruit in this dip. The saltiness of pretzels really compliments the flavors of the greek yogurt and peanut butter. I like the really fat pretzel rods because they’re great but they’re also just fun to eat. Graham crackers or vanilla wafers would also be an excellent dipping choice.

Honestly, you could just eat this with a spoon, it’s that delicious. This could be labeled breakfast, right?

Let me know in the comments below if you have a favorite fruit or other treat you used with this dip!

Creamy greek yogurt combined with peanut butter and cream cheese makes this healthy fruit dip a perfect appetizer, dessert, or even a stand alone breakfast.

Equipment

  • 1 medium mixing bowl
  • 1 serving bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 cup vanilla greek yogurt
  • 1 Tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 Tbsp cream cheese, softened*
  • 1/2 tsp honey
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add the greek yogurt and peanut butter. Stir to combine, making sure to blend the peanut butter as best you can. There will be streaks of peanut butter and that is okay.
  • Next, measure out the cream cheese and place on a microwave safe plate or bowl. Microwave for 10 seconds. Stir.
  • Add cream cheese to the yogurt and peanut butter mixture. Stir to combine. The dip should be creamy with no clumps of cream cheese or peanut butter.
  • Add the honey. Stir.
  • Add the cinnamon and stir to combine.
  • Move to serving dish and enjoy with fruit, pretzels, or graham crackers.

Notes

*Be sure to microwave the cream cheese for 10 seconds to produce a light creamy texture. If you don’t melt it a bit you could have chunks of unblended cream cheese which is very unpleasant to eat.
