It’s February and Valentine’s Day is upon us! Bring on the candy hearts we all pretend to like the taste of (does anyone actually like those?), pink and red decorations, and chocolate-covered everything. Whether you enjoy celebrating Valentine’s Day or not (or are more of a Galentine’s Day fan), one thing we can all agree on is the delicious-ness of Valentine’s Day desserts. I’ve complied ten of my favorite Valentine’s Day dessert recipes that I know you are going to love.❤️
1. Red Wine Brownies
What says Valentine’s Day more than chocolate and red wine? So let’s combine them into one delicious red wine brownies dessert. Fudgy, chocolatey brownies with a hint of your favorite red wine. Pairs perfectly with your favorite glass of red…or milk I guess. 😉
2. Chocolate Trifle with Raspberries
Light chocolate cake, layered with homemade chocolate pudding, and whipped cream. Top with raspberries and Kit Kats (or your other favorite chocolate candy). These individual sized treats make the perfect Valentine’s Day mini dessert with minimal leftovers.
3. Cream-Filled Chocolate Cupcakes
Fudgy, chocolate cupcakes filled with a vanilla buttercream and topped with a chocolate ganache. They may look like something you ate as a kid, but these chocolate cupcakes with cream filling have the perfect sweetness level to make them melt in your mouth.
4. Berry Tart
Not a huge fan of chocolate, but looking for a simple, but special Valentine’s Day dessert recipe? This berry tart has a shortcrust pastry base, is filled with an almond milk vanilla pastry cream, and topped with seasonal fresh berries.
5. French Macarons
For those who want to challenge themselves a bit this Valentine’s Day, try this easy French Macaron recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction. I used to be so intimidated by these little cookies, but I learned how to make them from this exact recipe and now I really enjoy making these macarons. Plus, they are super delicious. (And super impressive looking ;))
6. RumChata Cookies
Bursting with cinnamon flavor and topped with a creamy RumChata flavored buttercream frosting, these grown-up snickerdoodles are the perfect treat. Plus, they come together in about 30 minutes so if you’re looking for a unique, but not time-consuming Valentine’s Day dessert, look no further.
7. Strawberry Shortcake
Buttery biscuits filled with fresh whipped cream and sliced strawberries. These are made from Joanna Gaines’s homemade biscuits (recipe linked below). Her biscuits are so delicious and really make this strawberry shortcake.
8. The Best Chocolate Cupcakes
Light, fluffy and super chocolatey. These cupcakes are my go-to dessert option as they are so easy to make and SO delicious. Decorate them with red and pink buttercream frosting or add some Valentine’s Day sprinkles to dress them up for the holiday.
9. Cherry Cordial Cookies
Chocolate covered cherries but in cookie form. These bite-sized Valentine’s Day dessert has a Cherry Cordial Hershey’s Kiss sitting on top of a cherry-flavored shortbread cookie. I know chocolate covered strawberries are a Valentine’s Day thing, but honestly any chocolate covered fruit is okay in my book.
10. Mint Brownies
These mint brownies, combine the fudgy decadence of a brownie, with the refreshing mint from the Thin Mint cookie. They are heavenly and pretty simple to make.
I know there are hundreds of Valentine’s Day dessert recipes out there to choose from but these were just some of my personal favorites that I’ve made over the years. I’d love to know in the comments below if you’ve tried any of these — or have any other recommendations to add to the list!
